All you need is two simple ingredients to make this fresh mint sugar.  It’s super easy and perfect for using on fresh fruit or stirred into a tall, cold glass of chocolate milk.

Once you make it, you will wonder why you haven’t done it before.

If you spend any amount of time in the kitchen, you probably know that mint is one of the best herbs to have available in the garden. It’s one of my favorite herbs to have an abundance of because it’s rather easy to use.

You can dehydrate it and use it in tea, or add it to your daily water, or use it to make a simple mint sugar.

Homemade Mint Sugar with Fresh Mint

Two simple ingredients and a food processor is all you need to whip this into perfection.  Add 1/2 C. fresh mint leaves to 1 C. cane sugar, whizz and voila – it’s done!

(I know, it sounds so easy it can’t possibly be duplicatable but I’m here to tell you that it is and once you make it you will never go back to regular sugar at all!)

The food processor does the task of chopping the leaves up into small pieces and infusing the sugar with the fragrant scent of mint in just seconds.

That’s it!  You have mint sugar! You can sprinkle it freely on your favorite summer fruit, stir in to your favorite beverage or enjoy it as an addition to your glass-rimmed cocktail drink this summer.

[…] Mint sugar can be infused with essential oils and dried leaves, or it can be made with them. More information on how to dry leaves can be found on the FAQs page. Mint tea can be made at home, served immediately, or stored in the fridge and served within three days. If you’re going to make a mint-infused rum as part of a recipe, skip the shaking step. It is not necessary to infuse the entire bottle of vodka or rum; instead, concentrate on what is needed for your drink. Mint leaves can be stored in a glass of water, in a jar, or in a teapot with a few simple steps. Because of their soft texture and ability to bruise, mint leaves are a gentle and convenient snack.
