Step by step instructions &  video to help your children create an adorable yarn angel popsicle stick craft you can use as an ornament this holiday season!

Popsicle stick Christmas crafts are always fun and easy for kids to make at home or preschool. For my kids it’s a fun way to spend the summer… they can always think of neat ways to decorate popsicle sticks to turn them into ornaments, dolls, and more.

My younger kids LOVE making popsicle stick crafts and they love using them for Christmas crafts simply because they  make the best ornaments.

From angels to ninjas, to yarn wrapped dolls, coming up with ideas is never a challenge for them. Give them a few dozen popsicle sticks and they will be buried in creativity for literally hours at a time.

Plus, the fact that you can decorate them so many ways (paint, chalk markers, fabric, even yarn) is a definite bonus.

Even more, they come in a wide variety of sizes and colors too. We usually pick up our popsicle sticks at the dollar store – they carry regular and jumbo (larger) size there. Check your store!

Where to buy Popsicle Sticks

If you aren’t near a dollar store,  you can find popsicle sticks in bulk for a few bucks at Michael’s or hobby Lobby. You can even check your local Walmart or Target, as they might even have them too.

Or,  pick up the sticks in fun colors and unusual sizes on Amazon. They’re super inexpensive!

Yarn Angel Popsicle Stick Craft

This yarn angel popsicle stick craft combines simple popsicle sticks with white and yellow yarn to create an adorable angel. A hot glue gun, scissors, and 2 markers are all you need to finish this craft.

When you are done, you can turn them into ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree or in your home. Or, your kids can gift to family or friends. They’d be cute for a Sunday School teacher!

Follow the step by step tutorial above, or check out the video to help you throw this ornament together. Since it involves a glue gun, watch those little hands. Help the younger kids with the glue gun to avoid any incidents.

When you are done, snap a picture and tag us on Instagram at @RebootedMom. We’d love to see your creations!
