What Essential Oils are Best?
Many Essential Oils you find in store are merely fragrance oils – and should never be applied to your body OR ingested. These oils are created as synthetic substances – the smell is a mere imitation, but the therapeutic properties are not present.
While there are many companies and brands out there, we recommend Young Living because not only do they have their own fields, they have a Seed to Seal promise that ensures that they are providing oils that are genuine, free of synthetics and of unmatched purity.
From the time the seeds are planted to the time they seal their bottles, they are undoubtedly providing a wonderful final product without compromise.

Hi,
Should pregnant women not use peppermint oil topically (i.e. around the temples for headaches)? I’ve read so many differences of opinions online…
Peppermint will affect each woman differently. What works best for one may not for another so it will vary. I used Oils with my 4th and 5th pregnancy, and I did not have any issues with milk supply using it topically (back of my neck, down my spine). I use it on my temples too – no issues. YL Deep Relief has Peppermint and I use that quite a bit.. so far, she’s 3 months and I have endless supplies of milk.
I have a friend who hasn’t had issues with Peppermint either, and she is 5 months into breastfeeding her first.
I would suggest just being cautious with it – it’s probably fine on your temples, but I’d hesitate to use the Vitality line (in your water)… be careful not to apply near breast tissue (not that you would anyways). At least until your milk is well established. Not on the list, but Fennel is a great one for women for milk supply, too – so if you are a nursing mama it’s great to have that one on hand 🙂
Thank you for your reply. I was more specifically wondering if it was unsafe to use while pregnant–for example, risk of miscarriage?
