This adorable Easter Chick Yarn Craft is simple for kids to make and the perfect way to welcome spring and the Easter holiday!
It might still be freezing in many areas of the U.S., but here in Phoenix, we’re planting spring flowers. And that is an exciting thing!
Over the last week, we’ve made Gourd birdhouses and paper rose crafts as part of our efforts to cut back on screen time. Despite cutting screen time, the neighbor kids are still coming over to play at our place… which is indeed pretty odd!
Funny thing is, our neighbor actually mentioned today that her son thinks that despite the video game ban at our house, doing crafts has been “pretty fun”. Whoa – I never thought I’d hear that from kids!
Yarn crafts are indeed some of the least expensive and fulfilling crafts to do with kids of all ages. Perhaps that’s what keeps drawing us back?!
This cute Easter Chick Yarn Craft is adorably cute! What little kiddo wouldn’t want to whip up this sweet yarn chick? Round up your kids and pull out the yarn.
They’ll love making him so much that they might even name him (ours called him “Charlie the Chick!”)
Easter Chick Yarn Craft
This Easter Chick Yarn Craft is super easy for kids to make and the perfect springtime activity to welcome Easter!
Materials needed:
- cardboard
- yellow yarn
- orange card stock
- red card stock
- white paper
- googly eyes
- scissors
- glue stick
- liquid glue
- scotch tape
Make it!
To get started, fold a piece of paper in half. Use your freehand skills to trace an egg, then cut out the shape with a scissors.
Using your glue stick, paste that egg on a piece of cardboard and trim off the excess. Now you are ready to wrap in yarn! Tape the yarn on the back of the cardboard egg, and wrap carefully around the egg until the egg is covered entirely.
Trace and cut additional pieces (feet, arms and hair!) from the remaining colored card stock. Using your liquid glue, affix them on the chick as shown. Don’t forget the googly eyes!
