Sweet and savory Candied Pecans made in 20 minutes with just a few simple ingredients – the finished pecans make a yummy holiday gift!
Candied Pecans might just be one of the most addictive things to make right near around the holiday season. Five ingredients and just 20 minutes will yield some delicious sweet candied pecans that rival the ones you’ll sometimes find at the state fair.
Even better — make them for a fraction of the price!
Candied pecans make a really great gift for family and friends. Dress them up in a mason jar with a pretty bow, and toss them in a nice gift basket or on their own – they are sure to be well received.
I’ve tried many recipes for Sweet Candied Pecans and this one is perhaps the one I keep coming back to. Five ingredients covers all the bases — one single egg white, a pound of pecan halves, a third of a cup of sugar, a smidge of vanilla extract and cinnamon.
Can’t forget the cinnamon!
Sweet Candied Pecans
Start by beating the egg white with a hand mixer or by hand, just until the white is broken up and bubbly. Stir in the granulated sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Once well-mixed, fold in the pecans, taking care to coat them as thoroughly as possible.
You want to make sure you get the sweet mixture in all the crevices of those pecans!
Lay them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and bake for 20 minutes at 300 degrees.
Once they are done, allow them to cool; then seal them in a FoodSaver bag, or store them in mason jars. Try to eat just one – I dare you! They are SO addictive!
