Step by step directions to make these delicious, decadent Healthy Cherry Chocolate Cookies – you won’t know how you ever lived without them!
Healthy cookies?
Is there such a thing?
I don’t think any cookie is entirely that healthy, but certainly you can health-ify a cookie to make it a little better for you than the typical cookie most people would eat.
By playing around with a recipe, you can transform a regular cookie into something spectacular:
- whole wheat flour
- oats
- Chia seeds
- eggs (lots of protein)
- dark chocolate
- All of those things, added to an already existing delicious cookie recipe can truly make for a solid cookie that you won’t ever want to stop eating. I don’t advocate non-stop cookie eating, but lets face it – when you have a really delicious cookie in front of you, it’s hard to stop once you have started.
Am I right?
Healthy Cherry Chocolate Cookies
This cookie is a simple one – it holds the basic ingredients of all cookies, but goes a step further and adds in oats, whole wheat flour, dark chocolate chunks and dried cherries.
Dried cherries are great for homemade granola, but I’ll admit – they’re even better in cookies. Chocolate cookies. These cookies are great to keep on hand for last minute snacks to get the kids out the door – or, to share with a new neighbor who moved in down the street.
Whatever the occasion, they are a step up from the regular cookie and full of extra healthy ingredients and a boost of protein!
