I’m always looking for fun and useful ideas to incorporate into a make & take or.. event that I can have friends or family over to incorporate my Essential Oils.
I’m thankful for low-cost ideas too ~ these little bath and body bags are perfect for that. Not only are they inexpensive, they incorporate Lavender Essential Oil which is wonderful for supporting healthy skin. The smell of Lavender is relaxing… and when combined with Oatmeal, you can soak up the moisturizing properties at the same time.
To make these little bath and body bags, you’ll need these white mesh bags – you can pick them up on Amazon HERE… or if you are in the area of a Walmart store, check the wedding aisle – I was able to buy a pack of 10 or so for $2.00. They are, however, much cheaper on Amazon – if you plan ahead you can score 100 for just over $3.
While you are there at Walmart, pick up a bar of Yardley Soap – your store may have one variety or several… we could only find one variety at ours and it worked super!
When you get home, just pull out your tub of oatmeal – because honestly – who doesn’t have oatmeal on hand at all times? I think all of us do! You’ll want the regular cooking variety, not the quick cook oatmeal.
That’s all you need to make these little bags!
They are wonderful to keep near the sink – since each little pouch has a mixture of soap and oatmeal, they work wonderfully at lathering up and moisturizing your hands. Lavender gives them not only scent, but also the opportunity for you to support healthy skin.
If I’m having trouble getting my kids to take a bath, i’ll give them one of these pouches too – because it makes them excited to jump in and lather up… They can sit in the bath for quite a while lathering every inch of their body and then soaking in the wonderful smell of Lavender.
Lavender Infused Bath & Body Pouch
You’ll need:
- Wedding Favor Bags (Mesh – pack of 10) from Walmart or HERE (Amazon)
- 10 – 12 drops Lavender Essential Oil (see what we use HERE)
- 1 C. regular cook Oatmeal
- 1/2 C. grated Yardley Soap
To make:
Mix the Essential Oil with the Oatmeal and grated soap and put a few spoons of the mixture in each favor bag. Pull the ties shut at the top and they are ready to use!
If you are curious to know how long they last, just keep in mind that they have fresh oatmeal in them ~ I would probably use them once, maybe twice. You probably wouldn’t want to use them for a longer period of time as they wouldn’t be as fresh as you’d like.
