Baked Apple Donuts that are simple to throw together and the perfect way to celebrate the oncoming of a fall apple harvest!

Baked Apple Donuts

It’s the end of August and before long, the weather will start cooling down and colder, fall temps will start moving in.

Unless of course you are in Phoenix like I am … it doesn’t really cool down at all here.  By the time it does start cooling down in Phoenix, it’ll be February and there might be a wee tiny one month gap until the heat comes barreling in again.

For everyone else who lives in a normal climate … these baked apple donuts are great to celebrate the oncoming of fall. They aren’t too sweet, aren’t too heavy.. and great for anyone who isn’t really on any dietary restriction.

My kids love anything that’s loaded and dipped in sugar so obviously they were right at home with these donuts. Plus.. I told them that since the donuts had “apples” in them, that hey – they were healthy. (A far cry from being true but ….)…

These apple donuts come together quickly and easily with a few simple pantry ingredients. Combine the ingredients and fold in the shredded apple. Then pipe them into this silicone donut mold (below).

This mold has been so incredibly handy for me over the years — so handy, it helped me throw together a variety of different donuts:

  • Sweet Potato Chocolate Donuts
  • Grain Free Chocolate Donuts
  • Gluten Free Chocolate Donuts
