Simple Slow Cooker Hot Apple Cider

Spruce up a gallon of cider this Simple Slow Cooker Hot Apple Cider with simple pantry ingredients. Simmered with a few added ingredients takes the sour out of the cider. And the smell while it's cooking is amazing. You could easily make it SPIKED to your preference, too. Great to serve up at the holidays!

Equipment

  • crock pot/slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 gal apple cider
  • 1/2 C brown sugar
  • 10 cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • apple wedges or slices for presentation/garnish

Instructions

  • Pour the gallon of cider into the slow cooker.
  • Add in the brown sugar and whisk until dissolved. Add in the cloves and cinnamon sticks.
  • Cover and cook low for 2-3 hours or on high for 1-2 hours.
  • Serve warm in glasses of choice and enjoy.

Notes

Stove Top instructions:

Follow the same steps above but heat on the stove in a large pot until hot, not boiling. Allow the cider to simmer for a while before drinking and enjoy.
Notes: Can add slices of apples to the slow cooker if desired. You can also add an apple slice to the glass for serving along with a dash of cinnamon. Keep warm for serving.
