If you are in Arizona, chances are you know that with the onset of this heat, comes the need to drink more water. Considering the options for beverages out there today, I’d say a majority of people forego the water for fancier (and more attractive drinks) like Soda, or Tea, Sweet Tea, and more… many of which have entirely a crazy amount of sugar.
Drinking water is great for you – you should drink 8 glasses a day. If you don’t drink enough, you might feel sluggish and tired, lethargic… and your skin will show that you are dehydrated. You will experience constipation (after all, water helps MOVE things through your body – right?)
We recently wrote 5 reasons you may need to drink more water AND health benefits of drinking water. So ditch the soda, the Starbucks, the iced tea, and stick with water.
Essential Oils are great for giving your water some life – and many of them support your body in different ways. Young Living has the Vitality Series that are designed FOR internal use – cooking, baking, putting in your water, and supporting certain parts of your health. They are labeled as “Vitality” for internal use per FDA requirements, too.
Simply add 2-3 drops of Vitality Oil to your water each day – and since this is therapeutic grade Essential Oil you will want to use a Glass or Stainless Steel Bottle or Cup (not plastic!)
One tip though: Always make sure you are using Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils and check your bottle labels… as much as I am a supporter of Essential Oils, not all are safe for internal consumption. The cheaper oils you find at health stores are inexpensive because they are NOT meant for internal consumption – they are fragrance oils, or have an incredible amount of chemicals and very little “true” oil.
The Federal Government does NOT regulate Essential Oils as much as they should, therefore (much similar to food in stores) many opt to use “Pure” and “Natural” as part of a marketing practice (just like chips that are on display in the store.. that are often times STILL not healthy!)
If you are interested in using Essential Oils for your personal care, wellness, or home, Young Living offers a tremendous opportunity to score their oils at wholesale cost (24% OFF) when you buy the premium starter kit (which includes 11 popular oils, a diffuser and samples of various other items)… plus $40 in freebies, Facebook training, classes, and great support.

Sheryl, I would love to use Young Living Essential Oils, but I simply cannot afford the cost of the starter kit. I live on just Social Security alone, and am doing my best to eat healthy (whole food, plant based diet) and avoid toxic chemicals in my home on my limited income. I’m learning more about the benefits of essential oils. I did buy some bottles of Aura Cacia organic essential oils from Thrive Market recently. But they all warn that they are not for internal use. I also have a cat so I have to be careful that I do not use something that would be toxic for her. (Another cat got really sick last week and had to be put down just this past Monday, because I could not afford the over $500 cost to treat her. So sad.) Do you have any suggestions on what essential oils from Young Living I could get started with on my limited budget?
What I would do is set aside a little each month to save up for the kit 🙂 The oils you find at Fry’s, or even at Whole Foods cannot be used internally. Once you save up enough for the starter kit (it’s normally $160 + tax + shipping), then you only have to spend $50 a year or so to keep the wholesale membership. Which is definitely doable.
Believe it or not, many Essential Oils are great for pets — though I would not suggest the cheaper oils from the store (like Aura Caccia) because they are toxic to humans just like pets. Those oils are merely fragrance oils.. with no health benefit. Many of those cheaper oils are sold in stores across the country as fragrance oils but they really have no benefit and are usually just as toxic as some of our cleaners.
Once you save up enough, Young Living has a Vitality Line that is meant for you to add to your water (Lemon, Lime, Tangerine, etc.), Lavender is great for Pets and also for relaxation. I could go on and on .. I love my oils and use them for almost everything. My husband was spending several hundred a month on prescriptions before we started incorporating oils and so now that he is off of those, part of that budget goes to that. It’s incredible how much prescriptions are, even worse how much doctor visits run. With 4 (and soon 5) kids, we try hard to keep the kids healthy so we don’t have constant doctor bills. So far so good 🙂
Sheryl, just to clarify something . . . the Aura Cacia EO that I purchased is 100% organic therapeutic-grade. It was purchased from an on-line retailer called Thrive Market which sells many organic and/or non-GMO products, both food and personal care. It was not purchased from a local store like Fry’s or WalMart.
Sheryl, one more thing . . . I did sign up as a Retail Member with Young Living with you as my Enroller and Sponsor. I did not remember doing this! I went back this evening to sign up and my chosen member ID was already in use! Senior moment! No money to buy anything yet, but maybe in August. Right now I’m saving all that I can to attend a Christian Convention in July.
