The weather is warming up quite a bit here in Arizona, and just a few weeks ago I pulled my juicer out of hibernation ~ it’s big, bulky, and loud — but it’s so easy to get carried away and want to juice everything in your fridge. We invested in a high-quality juicer a few years ago and it has been an encouraging way to keep ourselves focused while helping us use up all of our veggies from our weekly farmers market visit.
As much as I love the juicer, I can’t say I love washing it.. thankfully we can toss most of the pieces in the dishwasher and it makes clean up a breeze.
One of my favorite things to juice lately has been carrots – they are one of the most inexpensive veggies to pick up at the farmers market and the orange color screams summer and warm weather.
As we approach peach season here in Arizona, this juice is the perfect way to use up a bounty of juicy peaches. Toss in an orange, some ginger and a little turmeric and you have the ultimate juice to start the day. It’s vibrant, healthy and wonderful for even the smallest little people – your kiddos!
Doesn’t this bright, bold color just make you want to drop everything and gulp down a few cups?!
Start by pushing your chopped carrots through the juicer, followed by half of the orange, ginger, turmeric, and the remaining orange and finally, the peaches. Stir well and chill, or serve on ice.
This recipe makes enough for just over a serving, but can easily be doubled or tripled if you are feeding the family. .. there’s nothing better than starting your day with a colorful and delicious glass of juice that’s packed full of vitamins and antioxidants.
Your kids will go wild for the bright colors!
