If you love Kefir and love Strawberries then this smoothie is for you. This is a smoothe we make every, single day in our house – ALL of us enjoy it, except of course the smallest newborn.
I’m very passionate about the health benefits of Raw Milk – we pick up 5 gallons a week for all of us in our home. We use it for Yogurt, Heavy Cream … and just for drinking. We picked up raw milk kefir grains from our Raw Milk farm in Queen Creek months ago and every day we use those grains to make kefir.
And every day those grains grow, and grow… and we are always looking for people to pass off extra grains to.
Making Kefir is so easy -and it’s great for you. Making your own is so much better than purchasing in store, too.
It’s incredibly important for our kids to drink 1/2 C. a day so they can boost their immune system, and prepare them for back to school in a few more weeks.
This smoothie only has 2 ingredients – Strawberries, and Kefir. If you shop at Costco, you can pick up a 4 lb bag of Organic Strawberries for just $10 – at $2.50 per lb, it’s a great deal. Of course, you can throw any add-ins that you wish – we listed a few below that you might want to try.
So why use strawberries? Strawberries are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients and are not too high in sugar.
Depending on your blender, you might get some frozen chunks of strawberries in your smoothie – I personally love that 😉
