How to Make Brown Sugar
This homemade brown sugar recipe will help you make your own brown sugar at home quickly and easily with just two simple ingredients!
Keyword brown sugar, sugar
- 1 C brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp molasses
Combine both ingredients in the bowl of your food processor.
Use the pulse of the food processor to combine the ingredients over the next 30 seconds to one minute. Scrape down the sides as needed.
See notes below for dark brown sugar or alternate measurements. Store the brown sugar in an airtight container or large ziploc bag to keep fresh.
For Light Brown Sugar:
- Mix two tsp molasses with 1/2 C. granulated sugar (makes 1/2 C.)
- Mix 1 Tbsp molasses with 1 C. granulated sugar (makes 1 C.)
- Or 2 Tbsp molasses with 2 C. granulated sugar (makes 2 C.)
For Dark Brown Sugar:
- Mix 1 Tbsp molasses with 1/2 C. granulated sugar (makes 1/2 C.)
- Mix 2 Tbsp molasses with 1 C. granulated sugar (makes 1 C.)
- Or, mix 4 Tbsp molasses with 2 C. granulated sugar (makes 2 C.)
