If you garden, chances are you are looking for Garden Spray opportunities that will help protect your precious plants that you work so hard to grow.

Chances are that if you garden organically, you are looking for natural options – from Garlic to Neem Oil, even Hot Peppers. You can read about 7 on our last post here.

Garden pests are inevitable, no matter where you live. I seem to have the most trouble with slugs, earwigs and rabbits here in my Arizona garden. Some areas have pests that are an even bigger threat. While there are many natural options,

Thankfully, you can also use essential oils for the garden too.

Essential Oils work super as a garden spray to keep your garden annoyance free. There are several Essential Oils you can keep in your oily arsenal to give you a variety of choice.  Combine 20-30 drops of your favorite essential oil in a glass spray bottle, and top off with water and a little castile soap and give it a shake.

Spray on your plants when they are dry (aka – not following a watering session or a day of rain!) to keep the bugs at bay.

Essential Oils for the Garden

The best oils to use to support a pest-free garden include:

  • Thyme Essential Oil
  • Clove Essential Oil
  • Pine Essential Oil
  • Peppermint Essential Oil
  • Cedarwood Essential Oil
  • Rosemary Essential Oil

To make Garden Spray:

  • Mix any of your choice Essential Oils (from above)
  • 1 Tbsp Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap (affiliate)
  • 16 oz. Water (Glass Spray Bottle is preferred)

To use:  Spray on your Garden area up to twice per week.  The best time to spray your garden is early in the day or later in the evening when the sun is not out in full force.

Have you ever used essential oils for the garden? If so, which oils are your favorite?
