Homemade Mint Extract
Learn how to make homemade mint extract - it's simple to make and a cost effective alternative to buying expensive bottles in store.
- 1 C fresh mint
- 1.25 C vodka
Wash mint and pat dry so there is no water on it.
Slightly break/crush/chop mint leaves and add them to a jar. Pour vodka over the mint and place lid on jar. It is important that the leaves stay submerged.
Place in a dark area and shake it every few days over the next four weeks.
After four weeks strain the leaves off and pour the liquid into small bottles.
- You can add the leaves to small bottles like pictured however they are harder to get the leaves out when it comes time to strain it.

If you want your extract even stronger, you can change out the mint each week and keep using the same vodka.
