Peach Simple Syrup
Deliciously refreshing peach simple syrup that's easily made with just three simple ingredients, and perfect for iced tea, ice cream, waffles, pancakes and more!
- 2 C sugar
- 2 C water
- 2 C peaches pit removed, diced
Bring sugar and water to a boil.
Add peaches. Allow to simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Remove from heat. Cool, strain out peaches & discard.
Place sugar water back on the stove, simmer for an additional 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Bottle and enjoy in your favorite recipes.
- For a rich syrup, increase the ratio of sugar to water (2:1) instead of 1:1.
- Simple syrup can be canned. To can, increase the sugar to water ratio 2:1. Properly sterilize jar, lids and rings in the water bath canner. Water bath for 20 minutes to ensure an effective seal.
- Don't toss the peaches once strained! They can be used for compost, or Vermicompost.
