Buttermilk Syrup
This incredible recipe for Buttermilk Syrup turns buttermilk and sugar into delicious pancake syrup in less than ten minutes!

- 1/2 C butter cubed
- 1/2 C buttermilk
- 1 C granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Heat butter, buttermilk and sugar in a small skillet or pot on the stove over low/medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda until combined.
Immediately serve over pancakes, waffles, french toast or rice pudding.
- Make sure you use a large enough saucepan as the mixture will boil up once you add the vanilla extract and baking soda.
- Serve immediately (warm); refrigerate leftover syrup and heat prior to serving (as the butter will stiffen up the mixture).
